Essential oils are used for aromatherapy and high quality oils give the greatest benefit.
Receptors in the nose can identify over a trillion different aromas and connect with the hippocampus and amygdala in brain...these are areas that store memories and emotions. Research has proven that when the molecules of essential oils are inhaled, the hippocampus and amygdala in brain then influence physical, mental and emotional state. Thus, affecting mood, heart rate, stress levels, blood pressure, sleep, motivation...and more, in positive ways!
How does this work with? Fatigue, sleep issues, stress, mood and sugar cravings are very common symptoms. Essential oils are a great way to increase sleep, enhance positive moods, control cravings and decrease stress by using our sense of smell, a sense that is often forgotten. Oils can be used as aroma therapy, used topically and with some, ingested. Again, high quality oils makes a huge difference in your results and essential oils are very concentrated, so one or two drops goes a long way! Many like to start with defusing oils in their bedroom or living room for promoting better sleep or relaxation and may move to increasing uses as there are so many benefits. I use essential oils daily in my own home and with my family, starting with use of oils for management of anxiety and sleep for my daughter. I quickly realized the benefits of using these oils personally, as well as for clients that have incorporated oils into their tool box for reducing symptoms as we work to resolve the root causes. Essential oils can to be extremely effective!
Research also suggests that alternating oils to decrease plateau effect increases continued effectiveness. So pick a few oils for sleep or stress relief or energy, for example, and alternate there use to get the most out of the oils, changing it up is good!
